The work of a craftsman is a testament to his skill, but can also be a testament to the tools that are employed. I often give long consideration to the tools I use, because I know a good tool is dependable, follows standards, allows me to retain ownership of my data, keeps clear of proprietary implementations which would lock me in, and works to simplify my ritual tasks. These are the tools I’ve come to trust.
